FAQ

Who can participate?

The contest is for anyone who likes programming and is not afraid of taking up new challenges.

Do I need to know any particular programming language?

No, you don’t. Only the results are being evaluated: output files transferred to the server in the qualifying round, and TCP/IP commands in the finals. The participants use their own equipment at all stages of the contest.

It allows the contestants to choose preferable environment and programming language.

How can I add a member to my team?

It is not possible to impose membership on anyone. Each participant must register himself and choose a team or create his own.

Team captain (a person who created a team) can remove team members but cannot add anyone.

How to join or create a team?

To create your own team, you must log in on www.deadline24.pl and go to “My menu” -> “Create your team”.

To join an existing team, you must log in on www.deadline24.pl and go to “My menu” -> “Join an existing team”. Then, choose a team from the list and click the button “Join team”. It appears next to the teams that lack members. If there is no such button next to a team, it means that it is complete.

What does the qualifying round look like?

The qualifying round consists in solving the tasks, prepared by the organizer. The solutions should be then sent via the contest processing system, the address of which will be made available on the Deadline24 website, one day before the qualifying round.

All teams that will register for the contest can participate in the qualifying round.

The results will be posted on our website (www.deadline24.pl), not later than seven days after the completion of the qualifying round. They will be also sent to all participants via e-mail.
The highest scoring teams (20-30 in total) will make it to the finals.

During the contest finals, the participants will have a dedicated web service to their disposition. It will allow them to obtain information, post questions and report any problems or inaccuracies. The website will be updated regularly during the finals.

Where do the tasks come from?

There are many theories on this matter. One of them says that they are prepared by the Secret Algorithmic Monastery whose members are known for their distinctive vocabulary:
